Durga Devi Homam

Durga, the warrior goddess, symbolizes strength and courage. Depicted riding a lion or tiger, she wields eight to eighteen weapons, each representing destruction and creation. Her iconography often portrays her triumph over Mahishasura, the buffalo demon, with a serene and composed expression despite being in the midst of battle. To Shakta Hindus, these weapons symbolize virtues like self-discipline, devotion, meditation, and cheerfulness.
